Downer "self titled"
Me personally, I like this album. It's fitting to the new style rock. I think we will se a song or two come off this one into the charts. Maybe not go high, but some where. It's one of those albums that "grows on ya". Singer J. Scott sounds alot like Dexter Holland of The Offspring. Though there are noticable differences. Musically behind the vocals is a real nice mix of great new talent. It's really hard to compare it to any one band out there today. If you like the new rock and the heavier edged style on the radio play list today, then I'd say, "Get it". It's definately a keeper to me. |

Aerosmith "Just push play"
Hmmm. What to say. Anything new? No. Any new styles? No. Well, still the same old Aerosmith. Same guitar riffs. Same vocal styles. Their style has stayed alive through the years and I have no idea how they keep doing it. It might be a little new, but bottom line, it's still Aerosmith. It's a very simple review of, you either like them, or you don't. Period. Gotta give them credit. No one else has been able to keep their heads this high this long. Check out the samples of these songs in our...

Oleander "Unwind"
Oleander's new album unwind was not what I expected it to be. After hearing the single "Are you there", I thought wow what a nice change for them. No not really. The single "Are you there" is the heaviest track on the whole cd I think. Everything else mellows back out into ballads and somewhat a "soft rock" style. Yes it's a little heavier than the last, but not much. It's somewhat of a Fuel style of rock. If you like all of Fuel's material, you'll like this one. |
